I can only say wonderful things about this stay. It was a little hard to find the sliding glass door at first, especially at 10pm at night after a full day of sightseeing, but once you find it, it is such a comfortable space. They have brochures and magazines on what to do around the island.
They had marmalade, yogurt, milk, butter, in the fridge as well as bread and granola, coffee and tea on the kitchen counter. Such a warm and sweet touch. Extremely clean space, big enough to walk around and feel comfortable. The bay was a short distance and a wonderful afternoon walk with my beloved.
Families gathered around the park, people walking their dogs, enjoying the last few rays of sunshine before dusk. It was truly beautiful. We enjoyed our stay at Jantina and Werner'a beautiful guesthouse in Blockhouse Bay! It was extremely clean, warm and welcoming! They were accommodating and they allowed us to check in early and use their washing machine located on their main property.
It made us feel like we were in New Zealand and it was a great place to stay at to begin our journey with fabulous views! It was a short walk down to the water and a few walking tracks, and a little bit of a longer walk into the small town that had everything you needed to get by. Overall we loved Jantina and Werner's guest studio and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend their home to anyone else!
So nice landlord couple and good view for the house Great peaceful place, friendly family. My wife and I loved staying here and walking to the town through the beautiful park. A great location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was only a 25 minute drive to downtown and 30 minutes to Waitakere Ranges.
