Police in Bogor regency, West Java have arrested two people accused of sex trafficking, whose modus operandi allegedly involves deceiving clients into believing that their sex workers are virgins.
The suspects, identified as year-old Y and year-old GG, were arrested while they were taking a year-old sex worker to serve a client at a hotel in Sentul on Tuesday. Police say the alleged pimps used various social media platforms to offer supposedly virgin sex workers to clients throughout Indonesia for a lot of money, even though not all the sex workers under their employ were actually virgins. Police did not say how many sex workers were involved in the prostitution ring, but they did disclose that Y and GG trafficked girls from villages around Bogor.
Y and GG were charged with human trafficking and may face up to 15 years in prison each if convicted. As for the virginity drugs, the police say that they are having experts look into them and where they were obtained from. While the police did not disclose much information about the drug, we were able to find products that promised similar results sold openly on several Indonesian e-commerce platforms.
